Barbara Bain Biography
Bain was born in Chicago. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor's Degree in sociology. She moved to New York City where she was a dancer and high fashion model. Bain studied with Martha Graham, thus cementing her interest in dancing. After attending Lee Strasberg's Actors' Studio she became an actress.

Bain is probably best known for her work in the television series Mission: Impossible as Cinnamon Carter; she played this role from 1966 until 1969 and again in one 1997 episode of Diagnosis: Murder. She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Actress in a Television Series for her performance in Mission: Impossible in 1968. She won three consecutive Emmys for Best Dramatic Actress for that series in 1967, 1968, and 1969.[1]

Her then husband, Martin Landau, also starred in the series, and her departure from the series in 1969 coincided with his. She starred opposite Landau again in the science fiction television series, Space: 1999 (1975–1977), as Dr. Helena Russell. Bain and Landau also performed together on screen in the 1981 made-for-TV film The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island.

On December 23, 1960, she guest starred in a Christmas episode of James Whitmore's legal drama The Law and Mr. Jones on ABC. Bain appeared on an episode of My So-Called Life, playing main character Angela Chase's grandmother. She also appeared in the episode "Matroyoshka" of Millennium, a late-'90s sci-fi series. In 1998, Bain was a special guest star in the Walker, Texas Ranger episode ("Saving Grace") as Mother Superior. In 2006, Bain had a minor role in an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation ("Living Legends") which featured a suspect, played by Roger Daltrey, who used stretch rubber face masks similar to those used in the old Mission: Impossible series in which Bain starred. In 2008 Bain appeared in the episode "What Are Little Girls Made Of?" of the TV show Ben 10: Alien Force as Verdona Tennyson, the grandmother of Ben Tennyson and Gwen Tennyson, alongside her daughter Juliet Landau who voiced the true form of Verdona, an energy being called an Anodyte.

Barbara Goldbach was born to Howard and Marjorie Goldbach in Queens, New York. Her father was a policeman. Barbara is the oldest of 5 children. She met her first husband Augusto Gregorini in New York while she worked as a model and he was visiting from Italy for a business trip in 1966. Barbara followed him to Italy to be with him In 1968, they married. They had 2 children, Francesca (b. 1969) and Gian Andrea (b. 1972). During Gianni's birth, he had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck, nearly choking him, and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, although a later operation improved his condition.

In 1975, Barbara and Augusto Gregorini separated when she moved to Los Angeles, California. The couple divorced in 1978, sharing custody of their 2 children. Barbara met Ringo Starr on the set of Caveman (1981) in 1980, and they became a couple during the filming. Ringo and Barbara were on a holiday in December 1980 when her daughter called to inform them that John Lennon had been shot. Ringo and Barbara went to New York to console Yoko Ono and Sean Lennon. Israeli actress Bar Belfer was seriously injured on Tuesday when she was struck by a car on the Ayalon Highway, just south of Tel Aviv.

Belfer treated by paramedics at the scene of the accident and then taken to Ichilov Hospital in serious condition.

"Belfer suffered serious head injuries and is now connected to a respiratory machine in the Intensive Care Unit in serious condition," the hospital said in a statement.

At the age of 17, Belfer appeared in the film based on David Grossman's book "Someone to Run With," for which she was nominated for an Israeli academy award and won the Grand Jury Prize at the Miami International Film Festival.

She also starred in the Israeli television series "Masks." In July, Belfer was due to complete her military service after three years at Army Radio.

"Bai Ling" in Chinese means "White Spirit". Bai Ling was born in Chengdu, in the Sichuan province of the Republic of China, on October 10, 1970. Her father was a music teacher, and her mother was a dancer and stage actress, but she was primarily raised by her grandmother after Ling's parents ran afoul of Chinese authorities during Cultural Revolution.

Bai Ling sang in her school choir as a child. At the age of 14, she was enlisted in the People's Liberation Army to served as an entertainer, singing and dancing for the troops for three years. Bai Ling clashed with authority and she found accused of insubordination for using tobacco and alcohol. She suffered from depression and was hospitalized.

Bai Ling found that she could express herself through acting so after her rocovery she joined a theater group in Beijing, where she appeared in traditional Chinese plays as well as dramas from the West. Soon she caught the eye of a number of progressive and traditional Chinese director and began receiving small roles in Chinese films. In 1988, Ling starred in Hu Guang (a.k.a. Arc Light), where she played a woman suffering from mental illness. The next year, she took part in the infamous Tiananmen Square protests, which further alienated her from the Chinese goverment. When she attended the film's screening at the Moscow Film Festival she was warned not to discuss political matters.

At age 21 Ling traveled to New York City to study at New York University's Department of Film and took classes at the Strasberg Institute. Bai Ling arrived in New York not knowing a word of English, but soon mastered the language through daily immersion. She was issued a special visa and allowed to stay in the United States due to her actions at Tiananmem Square. She make her American film debut as the villainous Myca in the dark fantasy The Crow. The following year she played a Chinese interpreter in Oliver Stone's Nixon. In 1997 she appeared in Red Corner as a lawyer defending an American journalist (Richard Gere) on assignment in China, although she knew she would suffer repercussions from her participation. Red Corner was banned in China and North Corea, her contracts in upcoming Chinese films canceled, and her passport was revoked. However, the National Board of Review gave her a Breakthough Performance award; and was gave her U.S. citizenship in 1999.

Bahar Soomekh was born on March 30th 1975 in Tehran, Iran, to a Persian Jewish family, and moved, at age 4, with her parents and sister, Saba Soomekh, to Los Angeles, United States in 1979, to escape the Iranian revolution. She attended a Yeshiva, Sinai Akiba Academy and Beverly Hills High School, where she played the violin in the school orchestra. She majored in environmental studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara. Soomekh began working at a corporate job, and took acting classes at night, before quitting her job to pursue a full-time acting career.

Bahar began acting at age 27, guest starring in television shows like "Without a Trace" (2002), "24" (2001), "JAG" (1995), among others. She got her big break portraying an Iranian-American woman named Dorri, speaking fluent English and Farsi, in the Academy Award winner for Best Picture, Crash (2004/I). The whole cast won the Screen Actor's Guild Award for Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture. Bahar also appeared in the director's cut version of another Academy Award winning movie, Syriana (2005), playing Yassi. Bahar got some more attention playing Davian's Translator in Mission: Impossible III (2006). She had a leading role in the horror film Saw III (2006), playing a victim, Dr. Lynn Denlon. She had also portrayed Margo on the television series "Day Break" (2006). Recently, Soomekh got one of the lead roles as Hollis on the television Series "The Oaks" (2008), which will come out in the fall of 2008.
